Dr. Scholl's Two-fer

Well, how about this? We have a couple people in this Dr. Scholl's commercial. Most of you will probably notice the tow truck driver rather than the guy who's gellin'. The tow truck driver doesn't like you parking there, and he especially wants you to learn how to turn in your TPS reports.

Yeeaaah, did you get that memo?

Actor: Rob Moore (he's gellin')
Previous work: "Senior Trip" and "Lost Souls"

Actor: Joe Bays (tow truck driver)
Previous work: "Office Space" and "Spider-Man 3"

Melting Acadias

How about a little bossa nova?

The song plays throughout.

Band: Nouvelle Vague
Song: "I Melt With You" [Get this song, opens in a new window]
Album: Nouvelle Vague
Commercial(s): GMC Acadia. The original version of "I Melt With You" by Modern English is used in Taco Bell's Cheesy Beefy Melt commercial.

Not Another Car Driving Into the Store

Don't you just hate when that happens? This entry is about the white Midas employee in the commercial below. He plays a lot of bit roles in a lot of different shows and movies. However, I will always remember him as a passionate, yet irritated, English teacher that eventually ends up covered in nastiness.

Note: Working on the other two actors in this commercial.

Actor: Sean Smith
Commercial(s): Midas Secure Stop Brake Service
Previous work: "Not Another Teen Movie" and "Spanglish"

The Alltell Clan

So, here they are, in all their colored-polo-shirt glory.

Note: Working on the new Sprint guy (with the 'fro) and the Wizard.

Actor: Chad Brokaw (Chad), who you also can spot very briefly in "National Lampoon's: Van Wilder"
Actor: Matthew Brent (Verizon)
Actor: Ian Ross Gould (T-Mobile); he’s also been in a Buffalo Wild Wings commercial
Actor: Scott Halberstadt (AT&T/Cingular)
Actor: Michael Busch (Sprint--this version)
Actor: Adam Herschman (Sprint--crazy hair)

Titus Edney

I know that wasn't his name; it was Tyus Edney. However, it makes for a nice clever headline, given that an actor in a March Madness Coke Zero commercial once was on a show called "Titus." In the commercial, this actor is in the passenger seat of a Woodchuck when Coach Zero jumps in the backseat and recaps the scene from 1995: UCLA's Edney drives the length of the court to hit a last-second layup against Missouri.

Actor: David Shawtraw
Commercial(s): Coke Zero (Tyus Edney)
Previous work: "Titus" and "In Her Shoes"

'A Few Chardonnays, What of It?'

One of the unsung heroes of "Big Daddy," he was the drunk homeless guy. Now, he's on his deathbed (not really) and has found a gold-digging, um, well-endowed wife/mistress while Death seeks out some Sliders. He seems to always play a scruffy dude/drunk. Oh, to have that life… [sigh].

Actor: Edmund Lyndeck
Commercial(s): White Castle (Death has a craving for a sack of 10)
Previous work: "Big Daddy" and "Enchanted"

Hacking Into Lowe's

Admittedly, this one is a guess, although I have a strong feeling I am on the right track. Let's say 90 percent. But again, call me on it if it's incorrect.

----------
UPDATE: This is no longer a guess; it's him. And to make it that much better, he is a recent movie called "Sex and the City"--you may have heard of it. He plays the Business Guy applicant that meets with Carrie, only to reveal he is wearing pink heels.
----------

There is a Lowe's commercial where a dad is telling his son that he told the store they would deliver and remove the family's appliances for free; the back of Lowe's the truck then reveals that these things are already free. The commercial then cuts to an in-store view where a salesperson is helping a woman with the washers/dryers. The salesperson looks a heck of a lot like Razor or Blade from "Hackers," but you only get a split-second glance at him.

Note: I am still looking for a video of it so you all can see. No luck yet, but I will update when it is available. In the meantime, here is an image of the actor.

Actor: Peter Y. Kim (Blade from "Hackers")
Commercial(s): Lowe's (same-day delivery)
Previous work: "Hackers" and "Boston Legal" and now "Sex and the City" (the movie)
Fun(ny) Fact: For the first couple days after "SATC" (the movie) was released, the character of Business Guy was listed by IMDb as being played by Pedro Kim. Pedro and Peter are not the same person. The error has since been corrected.
